I’m Heather, a nationally published & award-winning wedding and portrait photojournalist based near Williamsburg, VA in Hampton Roads. What makes me different is I truly love to capture authentic moments as they happen – more recently referred to as lifestyle photography.
My favorite photos are storytelling moments filled with happiness & love. I’m also a sucker for gorgeous light, sunsets, trees, and ALL naturally beautiful outdoor settings. I’m a bit of a romantic and LOVE catching those in between funny moments when no one thinks I’m watching.
Since I changed careers from newspapers to weddings & portraits in 2008, I have photographed over 400 weddings, 150 newborn sessions, and 600 family & senior portraits. Each one has been uniquely amazing and I feel so lucky to be a part of so many lives and capture authentic moments & memories for couples and families to have forever. Truly the biggest compliment for me is when my wedding couples become clients for life. It truly touches me when people have such an amazing experience with me that they will happily travel miles just to see me again.

Who inspires you?
My grandmother loved to share her family scrapbook.
What is something about you (a fun fact/hobby) not many people know about you?
I’m a bit of a video game nerd when it comes to Super Mario games.
What do you consider your biggest accomplishment to date?
All 5 Star reviews from happy wedding couples!
What is one item you cannot live without?
My sunglasses.
If you could plan a vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Italy.
What advice would you give your younger self?
Don’t try to fit in or copy others successes, stay focused on your passions and create your own path.
What has the last year taught you?
That I truly love what I do because it helps others remember the best parts of their lives.
